F.A.T. Karting Round 4 – Fulbeck
A mechanical flag, but not for the kart…
Sunday 12 July saw round 4 of the Junior light championship taking place at Fulbeck – a race Tom had been highly anticipating going into the weekend leading the Championship. What would the weekend bring?
What no one anticipated was that a few days before, a minor tumble would lead to an A&E trip and Toms wrist being X-rayed. Initially the prognosis was good – and he was discharged wearing a beautiful hand and wrist splint as a precaution until the fracture clinic could double check the many X-rays and confirm he was good to go. Unfortunately that wasn’t to be!
A call late Friday from the clinic revealed they were concerned they could see a fracture after all – but more X-Rays would be required and another review before they could be 100% sure. In the meantime that left Tom unable to race this weekend, and us keeping our fingers crossed that the next set of X-rays turn out to be fine.
Not wanting to completely miss out, Tom decided the best course of action was to go along and support his friends – and help out the FAT Karting team where he could! So instead of racing Tom helped with the flag display and wishing the other drivers luck before they left the pits.
Hopefully he’ll be back on track both literally and physically soon – but we’ll be back with an update as soon as we know more. In the meantime congrats to Luca for a well deserved win, and to Jake and Mia for 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Many thanks as always to our sponsors Prime Cover, Brackenwood Windows, Niche Cover and Big Picture Creative, we really appreciate your support and your patience while Tom heals!
Watch this space for an update once we know more….
